Lama Ghazzo, RP

Many people come to therapy feeling worried, overwhelmed, or unsure how to best support their child or teen who is facing challenges such as big emotions, peer dynamics, dysregulation, or just day to day challenges. I work with children and teens to help make sense of emotional experiences, build regulation skills, and strengthen confidence in navigating school, peer relationships, and home life. I strive to create a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where young people can feel understood, accepted, and safe to be themselves. Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I worked as a Child and Youth Worker in a variety of settings including schools and the community supporting children, youth, and families with diverse emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. This experience continues to shape my practical approach to therapy. I believe therapy should be safe, comfortable and individualized. I use a strengths-based, evidence informed approach that integrates cognitive behavioural strategies, acceptance based and solution focused interventions, as well as play based and experiential techniques - both in person and online! I place a strong emphasis on collaboration with caregivers and on helping children and teens build practical tools they can use in real-world settings. My goal is to support clients in feeling more capable, more confident, and better equipped to manage challenges with greater ease and self trust.
